Tesla Charger
I just want to give a shout out to Martin Isaac for a job well done!
Yesterday I plugged in my Tesla to charge and within 20mins I got a notification that charging had stopped – the reason provided by the Tesla notification was the wall plug temperature was high and it recommended having the wall outlet wiring inspected. When I pulled the plug from the wall it was indeed hot.
I texted Martin and asked if he could come take a look – and he did that same evening. He determined that the breaker was compromised and also the plug had some signs of burning/melted plastic. He made note of the materials he would need and came back this afternoon and did a more in depth inspection with the house power turned off. There was even more damage inside the plug and wiring, with evidence that the electrician who installed it had not done it properly. Our house could have burned down if this had gone unnoticed!! so I thank Tesla for the notification – but truly THANK Martin for coming to the rescue so promptly and explaining everything so well – he replaced the breaker, the outlet and made sure it was wired safely this time! My car is now safely charging.
I also learned a valuable lesson about contractor insurance – Martin asked if I had the insurance certificate of the original electrician – I did not. That means if the house had burned and our home insurance directed us to file against the contractor’s insurance we would have been stuck!
So – THANK YOU Martin! I really appreciate you. If anyone needs work done I highly recommend contacting Martin first – if he can’t do it he will be the first to let you know and if he can – he gets the job done!
